'Drayton House' Church Road, junction Hemmen Lane.was once George Wardlaw's Butchers, George later had a shop across the road in a former house, he also ran the shop at Wistowe Stores for a while.
When I took this photo in 1999 it still had the large window which coul;d be raised for display/the tiled surround and even the iron buthers' hook rails hanging above. There used to be a slaughterhouse at the back.

Very briefly, this was a sweet shop (with hardly anything in it!) This would have been around 1972/3-ish.
