This is the only photo, I believe, that shows a 9th Hayes Air Scout. Like Barry, I too was a member of the 9th Hayes--special because we were Air Scouts and wore berets. One of our leaders then was 'Doc' Wooten (who had a tragic early death) and Skip ____________, whose family ran a car-parts business on Uxbridge Road. We used to meet at the then Townfield Junior School. Those were the days of "Bob-A-Job" when we were often exploited to do dirty jobs in someone's garden or house for what is now a paltry 5p.
