Who remembers the "Pirate Skull & Crossbones" flag that used to fly above the Hillingdon Tyre and Battery shop ? You can see it in this photo top right.
It was something to do with their supplies of stock which came from a different location to other sellers. I can't remember all the detail.

What a smashing picture Josh, I remember going into uxbridge on the trolleybus from the Adam & Eve, think it cost about 3d probably a bit more now !

Meant to mention some buses turned around at Hayes End near White Hart, man would get long pole out to change the conductor arms around.

I'm amazed at just how similar to this that area still is today! And of course the tyre place bondbyboy refers to is STILL to this day a tyre place, run by ATS.
