Oh wow....I've just realised, this must be on the site of what is now Stockley Park, as the Wetherspoons "pub" there is called "The White House" in memory of a pub that used to be on the site!

Is Jack Hammond also known as Tinna Hammond ?
I used to drink with Tinna and his son John was my best man. We used to buy runner beans in season from Dickie Green at his small holding off of Bourne Ave.
Brilliant photo.

Hi Chris;-yes was Tinna, I have a clearer photo which I will post later on but without the pub in the background. By the way this photo and other came from Walter Peggrem's daughter Janet, she is my second cousin who lives in Felpham. You mention Dickie Green's smallholding, did he have large greenhouses as Janet sent me one or two unidentified photos from her mum's album, will post them later perhaps you can tell me.

Hello again Chris, having second thoughts about my previous comments as the clearer photo I have just posted has three Hammond's on it. I will give another cousin of mine a ring, she knew Tinner she may be able to give me his real name.

Hi Barry. I seem to remember Dickie Greens smallholding was alongside the railway lines, I would imagine he leased it from British Rail, I don't recall any greenhouses but it was a while ago. He also used to grow lots in his garden which was quite large in a corner plot. We live in Selsey not that far from Felpham. John Hammond died a few years ago at too young an age and his wife Mavis now lives in the New Forest.
