This is a postcard of Wistowe House and stores. It is in Church Road directly opposite the old Hayes Town Chapel.
Lovely postcard !

What a fantastic pic, not seen this particular view before, the house on the corner on the right,Drayton House is still there, originally a butchers with it's own slaughterhouse at the back. St. Mary's Hall now stands where the wall in the background, my late sister used to go to dance classes behind Wistowe House, Ernie Fripp's School. I was born just around the corner,in the 50's George Wardlaw had a shop in one of the houses on the left before moving across the road to Drayton House

Ahaa!! Goes to show, people must explore these albums, there are all sorts of hidden gems. Incase you hadn't noticed, that was uploaded a year ago and in fact it was in our old albums too.

On another topic, I've also noticed that quite a few pix from these albums and our previous albums have been reposted on other groups and blogs, which is why from now on I'm adding a watermark over some of the pictures before I upload them. I know many of the old postcards are in circulation anyway, but I've seen quite a number of pictures which can only have come from these albums. I don't mind but what is a shame is that so many more people look in and download than register and contribute. I would encourage people who visit this site please to register and add comments and also any photos they have in any way connected to Middlesex or West London.
