Studying this photo brought thoughts of these people being happy now the war was over. The NHS was only about to be introduced and not many TV's for home entertainment. Radio was still the Light Programme, Home Service and the Third Programme. Rationing was still in place, prefabs were being built at Cranford Drive and temporary houses in the Bourne Avenue area to accomodate those who may have been bombed out or the returning servicemen and their families. It is so good that photos like these are posted here to replace those lost before Christmas to show earlier years and people in Hayes. I, for one, enjoy viewing them so would like to say thankyou.
