I was prompted to post this after Marian posted the article about Tony Adami. He was awarded the Headmaster's prize and received it from Michael Stewart, obviously on the same occasion. Michael Stewart was MP for Fulham, and a front bench spokesman for Education for Labour. He later became Education Minister and then Foreign Secretary in Harold Wilson's first government.

What was your prize for, David?

It was for French. I can't think why I was singled out for this prize because I was not very outstanding in "O" level that year, and ultimately failed "A" level. The prize was the complete works of Racine (in French!) and needless to say I didn't ever read more than a few pages!

You must have done something right, David. It was an honour to be awarded the Special prizes. Belated congratulations!
