Thanks for all these brilliant photos. Are they all from the same carnival, in 1979?
Very much looking forward to any more pix you have. We've created your own album for you and can create further sub categories if you wish.

Thanks for all what you did with the categories... they are from different carnivals - I need to find out what years they were. All the floats and stalls are from Hayes & Harlington Community Association and hopeflly I will upload some more soon of events at our centre.

I totally agree with Josh, these are fantastic photos, in the days when Hayes had REAL carnivals in the 50's, 60's & 70's not like the rubbish today. Before the pointless pedestrianisation of the town the introduction of ridiculous speed humps and chicanes, making it impossible for lorries to negotiate them, not to mention the dopey health & safety regulations. In those days the carnival was often so long it had three or four breaks to allow traffic to cross and more often than not three or more marching bands. Although I moved from Hayes to Hounslow in the 70's I am proud to have come from Hayes, when our children were young we always went over to watch it, but in recent years have never bothered.

Good to see some people I knew and enjoying themselves. The floats are amazing.

That looks like TOD Choir members Ruth and Dorothy on the far side and at the front. I have a recording of Dorothy singing solo at the Botwell Concert.
