This must be one of the last pictures of students at Townfield Junior School as it closed and moved to Minet (which officially opened in 1956).

This photograph is one I uploaded about 5 years ago. It shows Townfield jnior school group at the Isle of Wight. I have the photograph since my brother, Chris Abbott, is in the shot. He suffered a serious injury to the knee while on the trip and remained behind in Ryde general hospital for another fortnight.

Hi Mike! Great to hear from you. Yes, I'm afraid we lost everything when our host disappeared. People have been very kindly re-uploading the treasures they'd saved from the old site over the years.

My brother Chris is on the back row, right, standing behind the teacher in white shirt, glasses. Sitting on the front row, second right, is a boy (name unknown) who remained friendly with my brother long after their Townfield school days.
