I was disappointed to have visited St.Andrews church recently only to find the door locked. I would like to go back and be able to sit in there for a while to think of Brian Trant and memories of singing there. Such good memories and of a really wonderful person who introduced so many, including myself, to the wonders of very high standard choral singing. No matter how hard the knocks in life may be for some of us, the pride of having belonged to Brian Trant's choirs and helping to create the sound of music he wanted, is something which can never be taken away. I am grateful for all that I learnt from him.

I too wanted to take a look in St. Andreew's Church, to see once again the place in which I sang under Brian's direction from 1959 to 1966. I learned much of what I know about choral music and singing from Brian, who was an excellent musician, organist, conductor and teacher. I too sang in the Mellow Lane Christmas Concerts, and remember fondly my first struggle with all those Hallelujahs in Messiah.
