Yesterday I was passing through the former RAF base in Uxbridge, learning that it is being redeveloped. Having lived on the base when a child I took a photo of Married Quarters in Grays Road before they can be demolished. And I've added a photo of my parents in 1958 in front of our own home.

Grays Road was next to the road I lived in, and the houses were airmen's married quarters.

Wow I never knew there were normal houses like that on the base. I recognise the mast having seen it many times from the road outside.

There were more houses like these at the Greenway end of the base. The more modern married quarters across the River Pinn are still in occupation. These houses in Grays Road can be seen from the public footpath through what we must now get used to calling St. Andrew's Park. Thanks for the rating.
