Thankyou for this photo capturing the look of the tracks when they were wider and a Diesel train approaching. Was it about that time the Diesel's were being introduced?

The dog, Trixie, was a placid creature and was not at all phased by the noisy diesel rushing past. Not only is the station still there but most of the original buildings are still in place (perhaps not the signal box) so that it still looks like a proper railway station. Diesel locos were probably new to this line in 1963, but within a few years Beeching saw to the abandonment of this as a main line. In 1960 I had travelled this way to get from Paddington to Birmingham Snow Hill.
