Air raid siren and 98 bus near Adam & Eve

This is a great picture of the corner of Church Road, Hayes, opposite the Adam and Eve. You can see a 98 bus, plus most interesting of all, the air raid siren that used to stand on the corner. There was also a siren on Hayes Police Station. Does anyone know when these sirens were removed?


The date this photo was taken isn't known, but is probably late 1970s or 1980s.

I'm not sure how the system worked but I reckon that bus was registered in 1971. (K reg?)
