These pictures of a white-out in Hayes Town were taken by Eric Hayles late 1978 or early 1979.
This is taken from North Hyde Road looking back at the junction with Station Road, known as Fairey Corner. The green-roofed buildings were once part of the Fairey Aviation and Westland Helicopter site.
The AEC Esso fuel tanker is probably about to deliver fuel to either or both of the two Esso petrol stations which were on either side of the road at the junction of North Hyde Road and Fairey Avenue.
