This part of the Civic Centre in Uxbridge is the old local council building before the Civic Centre was built. It used to house the library and Hamson Museum on the first floor, and a medical centre on the ground floor.

Is that where the Registry Office was and is it actually attached to the new building?

Yes, there were other local offices in the building, which I seem to remember was in the shape of an H with the library and museum and medical centre on the side away from the High Street. The entrance to them was on the crosspiece. I was not aware of the Registry Office being there, but then I had no cause to be. And the builing in the photo is now a part of the Civic Centre building.
