This used to be the entrance for the public footpath that went through the RAF base. These gates replaced heavy looking wooden gates in a murky RAF blue. you can now see the ruins of RAF buildings, in preparation for the new St. Andrews Park. While I was there taking this photo I could see the tops of the old married quarters still standing, and I could see walkers near them so the entrance to the footpath must now be further up Park Road.
