I've only just come across this photo, and it's a joy to look at the High Street as I remember it. The arcade on the right is still there with its collection of shops. Tommy Barnard's second hand book and record shop can be seen on the left, and in the gap, set back from the rest of the shops, was Bishop's store, an early supermarket.All that left hand side now is replaced by the Chimes.
