The cost in £s to the UK taxpayer for EU membership is serious enough.
The real cost is the loss of sovereignty. The loss of national independence to make our own laws, the loss of freedom to control our national borders, the loss of freedom to fish the seas as we wish, the loss of freedom to punish criminals as they ought to be. In fact, as members of the EU (against the will of the people) we have to go to Brussels to beg permission to remove 5% VAT from tampons, while the 20% VAT remains on all other sanitary items, such as incontinence pads and devices, toilet rolls, etc. We have lost the freedom to deicide how to dispose of our domestic waste. Even the power consumption of vacuum cleaners, and post EU referendum electric kettles, lawn mowers, etc. etc. will have a reduced power consumption dictated from the EU. Every UK product design is heavily controlled by EU directives, and must carry the CE label.
If all that wasn't bad enough, the British Military has been deliberately reduced in size and effectiveness in order to merge it with the developing EU military. The UK's Command and Control system has already effectively been merged/swallowed-up by the French Command and Control system. French troops are already on British soil. The Royal Navy has been reduced to an ineffective fighting naval force that is dependent on French naval air power.
Our national energy supplies are now very effectively under the direct control of the French and Germans. We are told by British politicians that Britain no longer has the ability to build our own nuclear power stations; actually, I believe that is a political lie of gigantic proportions. The core of British industry has had the heart torn out it by the decisions and actions of the political class, with steel making being the latest major industry to go. Much of our industries have been replaced with low skilled, low paid jobs, with very many of them being in the retail of foreign goods and services, and many others in the 'entertainment' business of dumbing down our senses.
I'm sure that others on here can add to my brief list of highly significant policy areas where the British people haves been stripped of their freedoms, freedoms that past generations willingly shed enormous quantities of their blood in defending our once treasured freedoms. Freedoms that the traitorous political class have knowingly, and deceitfully given away to that foreign power, the European Union, without the express permission of the British people.
As Osborne's budget declares: the march to EU-style mayor led city states, and the breakup of England into EU directed regions continues at pace. Even though we are supposed to be having a referendum on EU membership on the 23rd June this year, the push towards the breakup and eventual death of the UK rapidly continues with the blessing of the traitors in Westminster.
