The oath could include phrases such as “tolerating the views of others even if you disagree with them”, as well as “believing in freedom of speech, freedom of religion, freedom from abuse … a belief in equality, democracy, and the democratic process”, and “respect for the law, even if you think the law is an ass”.
That appears to be a dangerous list of undefined 'values'. It's the complete lack of proper definitions that makes all this nonsense of “allegiance” to “British values” so dangerous. Almost inevitably, the definitions will be left to evolve before politically correct courts, and probably behind closed doors.

“British Values”, I believe was a term fashioned by Cameron, it is a political term intended to blind us all into becoming subjugated robotic followers of political correctness (PC). Bear in mind that PC is cultural Marxism.

Clearly, the CONservative Party, which increasingly appears to be heading up a one-party state, is anything but conservative, or even remotely liberal – it is increasingly dictatorial; as are the Libs and Labs.

Isn't it strange that so much of politics today is given over to enforced “tolerance” of certain “values”, when “tolerance” is never applied equally and universally to all members of society. Frequently, and especially disadvantaged, are the morally upright indigenous members of society who need no laws to impose moral or “British values” on them.

An “Oath of Allegiance” to political correctness today? Where is that heading; an “oath” or 'mark', without which nobody can work, earn, buy, sell, or have access to essential services and provisions?

The word 'tolerance' is a useful tool to expunge critical thought/criticism. As for an Oath of Allegiance, it's just a meaningless gesture that will be used by those who have total disdain for everything 'British'.

It's all newspeak .. usually means something different or ultimately opposite to what it appears.

I agree. I think it that the political class now see themselves as the highest and ultimate authority; the state has been elevated to position of the supreme creator.

Isn't the term 'newspeak' currently being replaced by the term "false news"; where the mainstream media (MSM) claims that any truth found in the alternative media is denigrated to the level 'false news'. Similarly, true democracy is now referred to by the MSM as 'popularist'. A 'popularist' being opposed to the globalist political agenda and its class.
