It appears there's more punishment to come for simply being old:

More here:

Quote:
The average house price in Britain is £226,000. Under the Willetts formula, the owner of such a property would be landed with an extra annual tax bill of around £1,250.
In London, where the average price is £729,000, that would translate into an additional £6,300 a year, give or take. Where are people supposed to find that kind of money? Plenty of so-called ‘wealthy’ baby boomers are retired, on fixed incomes.
According to the latest figures, the average pension is £19,900 a year.
If any of us ordinary mortals were to suggest such a plan against any other sector of society it would be regarded as a hate crime by the political class.

Maybe before they start hiking taxes they should look harder at the tax evaders and the black market economy.

Whilst I have enjoyed the recent rises in the tax code which means I pay less tax I'm surprised they have increased it by so much in recent years.

I've got no objection to paying more tax as long as it's justified and reasonable.

I cringe when I see the continual single mothers on TV moaning that they can't afford to live in their appointed hovel. Tough, you opted to be a single mum, your fault. Go home to mum & dad and take your up to date iPhone with you.

So right Kremmen, there is so much waste and instead of giving £12billion to 'overseas aid' that goes into some dubious projects and the pockets of corrupt politicians/officials, spend the money at home where it's needed. Why this budget is a ring-fenced sacred cow is beyond me!

When you look at the net contribution figures of the EU we are paying a double whammy to foreign aid.

We have a separate foreign aid fund plus we are contributing £6.1bn net to support the likes of Greece who are receiving many more billions and therefore have no incentive to get their taxes in order.

Go here and press the net contribution button:
