I voted “Leave” in the EU referendum. I was very surprised when the result was announced; but I've never believed that we'll ever leave the EU. Too many powerful people have invested a lot of time, money, and behind-the-scenes activities into taking the UK into the EU for them to ever give up easily, simply because the people voted “OUT”.
My primary reason for not believing we would leave the EU is because the Bible describes the rising of a revived Roman Empire in the “latter days”. In fact, a proper understanding of the book of Daniel declares that the last of the world empires described by Daniel, Rome, is never actually taken over by any other of man's empires. According to Daniel, the Roman empire is one of “iron”; it eventually divides into two legs, East and West. The two legs are later divided into ten kingdoms - the ten toes of the two feet. The feet are a mix of iron and clay, a fractious non-uniform mix of hard iron and soft clay that struggles to hold together (The EU is such a mix). See Daniel chapters 2 and 7; then read some good books on the book of Daniel. The book of Daniel needs to be read and understood because it largely provides the key to understanding the Book of Revelation.
For anybody who is interested in understanding our times, the “latter times”, I highly recommend two excellent books. Both books are readily available from Amazon in both paperback and Kindle versions:
1:
“The Book of Revelation” by Clarence Larkin. Clarence (This book is best read in the paperback form because it contains many highly detailed charts and drawings that aren't presented very clearly in the Kindle version).
2:
“The Coming Prince” by Sir Robert Anderson.Clarence Larkin's brief biography is here:https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Clarence_LarkinLarkin: a one-time draughtsmen/toolmaker and qualified mechanical engineer, who became a full-time church pastor.
Sir Robert Anderson's brief biography can be found here:https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Robert_An ... d_official)
Quote:
Sir Robert Anderson, KCB (29 May 1841 – 15 November 1918), was the second Assistant Commissioner (Crime) of the London Metropolitan Police, from 1888 to 1901. He was also an intelligence officer, theologian and writer.
My disbelief in man-made global warming/climate change is also based on my understanding of the Bible. Yes, this world as we know it will end, but not because we used hydro-carbon fuels. The "Rock" from heaven will eventually smash into the feet of iron and clay, and the whole edifice of man-made empires with collapse and disappear - for ever. Then there's something new, but long prophesied.
