Got to the bottom of this .....

In the States, 5G operates on a millimetre wave or mmwave that is a ultra high frequency of between 30Ghz and 300Ghz.

In the UK 5G will operate in the 3.4Ghz spectrum.

The main health factor is ionising radio waves, which can cause radiation and cancer. These include UV, X-rays and gamma rays, which can alter our chemical make up. These ionising waves do not exist in 3.4Ghz so our implementation should be safe as 'all' UK mobile phone signals, even hyper fast 5G are non ionising.

On page 6 of above document two 5G bands are mentioned:

3.4-3.8 GHz, which has the potential to allow wider bandwidths; and•24.25-27.5 GHz (the 26 GHz band), for ultra-dense very high capacity networks.

And page 6 para. 1.12:

We already have plans in place to make the 700 MHz band available for mobile services including 5G, and are currently undertaking work with regard to the 3.4 to 3.6 GHz and the 3.6 to 3.8 GHz bands. We fully support the RSPG’s identification of 26 GHz as a “pioneer band” for 5G in Europe, and as a result believe that international studies on the band should be expedited as a matter of priority. We also fully support and are actively promoting 26 GHz as the priority band for globalharmonisation.
The “ultra-dense very high capacity networks” are likely to be deployed in Smart Cities, where many people will be living in high-density accommodation.

As an aside, current domestic Wi-Fi networks have been available, and operating on the 5 GHz band of frequencies for some considerable time, and they are not “beamed” energies.
