As I understand it, from today you can now pay your fare by touching your credit or debit card on the yellow pad on buses ala oyster card.

I wonder how many people have their oyster cards in their wallets/purses and touch the whole thing as the RFID is quite effective?

Guess where I'm coming from with CC's, DC's and Oysters all in the same holder :D

I don't have to pay either and the last time I went on a bus was last summer when I had to go to Hillingdon Hospital from Uxbridge. I couldn't complain that day as the journey took just a few minutes each way - quick and easy.

I keep my bus pass in my purse along with my debit card so I think if I had a contactless card then I would separate them - maybe put the bus pass in my pocket.

It just needs a bit of thought and planning before you go on the bus or tube ........

I don't think it would read two cards so quick, in succession. 8-)

How do you prove you have paid if an inspector gets on?

Many buses in central London don't accept cash so there's no printer. Inspectors can see the history of an oyster card by a simple scan. I wonder how they can check payment with a charge card?
