I have a spare PC and I've been giving it a whirl.

What a piece of junk. It's locked down like Android with apps I don't want but can't get rid of, just the shortcuts. It's fairly obvious where Microsoft see this going as it's full of paid stuff, just like Android.

Microsoft recently removed their 'classic shell' and have stopped third party ones from installing. Why - because Microsoft want to watch what your doing for targetted info and they do it via the Win10 Start Menu as that is the 'centre'.

Here is what greets you - loads of crap:

During installation it totally removed Norton, didn't tell me, so when I did realise and reinstalled it I had already gained a dozen tracking cookies - thanks Microsoft.

I've let it install itself on the grounds that it can't be worse than Windows 8. It's obvious when using laptops nowadays that they're constantly communicating with servers somewhere.

I bought an Apple MacBook Air (13") and I must say I'm very pleased with it, so glad to get away from Microsoft!

My bro's got Apple, he seems pleased but I think everything's a lot more expensive.

... and a lot more controlled by Apple to maintain a steady revenue stream.
