Sad to see the team doing so poorly. I used to watch Hayes play when I lived in Southall. I moved away in August 2000 when the team wasn't doing so badly and so always rely on finding out results via Final Score on the BBC nowadays.

I remember when I was younger, we used to be able to see the lights from the football ground from my aunts old house.

Now part of the urban sprawl, at least the houses opposite have decent size rooms and gardens, that retain part of the character, of the original sprawl between the wars, the odd couple of shops where the slaughter house laid behind, the few old cottages by the Church gates will have to look and see if they are still there. the makeshift fire station, that used to have the big red fire engine Parked and ready to go. ;) ;)

Hmm! Are you saying the Hayes ground has been flattened? If so, thats sad. My uncle lives in Hayes and said he heard that was going to happen but I never heard anymore.
Sad outcome really as when I left Southall back in 2000 the Hayes team were doing well and the ground had even hosted a semi-pro England vs Italy match that England won (I went to that with my dad)
