Every so often I despair at the prices of housing locally!!!

Have a look at this place which is being constructed above Tops Tiles on the Uxbridge Road near Hillingdon Fire Station.

A pokey kitchen/living room/dining room, plus a small bathroom and one reasonable bedroom - all for £250,000. (& annual service charges of course)

Some have already been sold off plan

Trident House in Hayes (Ex Avis Building) has similar sized units throughout with a similar price tag. Strangely, they are all sold and it's only half built. No doubt they have been bought by a developer / estate agent and let them to councils and housing associations on long term lease and the tenants won't be commuters or city workers.

Incredible.

This looks like a good investment. .. and a good way of investing!

Absolute lunacy.

They need to put a stop to these 'landlords' who are buying in bulk and fleecing people who can't afford to get on to the property ladder.

My guess is crowd funding will boom and private house buying will become beyond the reach of future generations.

There are a group of people who can afford to buy all available housing so prices rise and normal buyers can't get in. Needs to be stopped.

Can't see that happening. My guess is future generations will all end up living in boxes ultimately owned by Serco, Capita, Sodexo et al.... and woe betide you if you mention on Facebook that you don't believe in global warming or support traditional families.
