how many know? ASDA want a store in Hayes
I hear the Local wise men in the big house are deciding we dont need an ASDA store in the Hayes area, they seem to be tied in the determination that Tesco is the way forward as planning for new stores is no problem for them, the Fairy site would be a good start for them to break free from the dominance of Tesco, and show initative, they are in control, as we do have a surplas of Tesco's with more applications on the way, how many would like a larger freedom of choice, than those precribed by the Big House, please read on :o ;) ;)

Subject: Hayes appeal - Regeneration of Westlands 3

Thank you very much for getting in touch with us recently to express your
support for our proposals to regenerate the Westlands 3 site in Hayes and
the appeal.

As we mentioned in our last email to you, we are very grateful for the
support we have received from local residents, including yourself, and
will be handing copies of all the letters and emails that we have received
to the Planning Inspector on the first day of the inquiry.

The inquiry is taking place from 2nd October 2012 to 5th October 2012. The
address is: Civic Centre, High Street, Uxbridge, UB8 1UW.

As there are still a few weeks until the inquiry begins, there is still
time for letters or emails in support to be sent in to us. We would be
very grateful if you would feel able to ask your friends and family to
send in their views if they have not already. Every letter and email will
help show the Planning Inspector, who will be listening to our appeal,
what local people want and the strength of support that exists for the
proposals.

Letters can be posted to us at: Westlands 3, PO Box 50143, London, SW1H
0WY or emailed to us at: information@westlands-hayes.co.uk

Because ASDA are cheaper than the other 2 I bet teh other 2 are fighting this tooth and nail.

It would probably be worth the distance.

But then to a lot of people the distance would be less, plus the fact a lot of folk living south of the Borough would be bringing in extra money to spend there, and maybe as they are now that close explore the surroundings, and spend as they go. I think what comes out of this is shortsightedness of our elected assembly, we cant have too much competition, as that controls the prices we pay. ;) ;)

I would like to add the site of the old swimming pool has been designated as a site to accomodate even more families into what is already an over populated part of the Borough, the situation is already at breaking point regard the weekly shopping. :o :(

Years ago the only real decent sized shop was Waitrose by the Grapes. we've now got a plethora of them and they still get full to busting at times.

Tesco Yeading seem to have a partial answer. Since they've introduced these £1 trolleys they have managed to get them to lock together. The system is that you put your quid in and one slides out. Well that's the theory, in practice they stay locked together even though the quid has freed the chain.

Even Geoff Capes would have trouble unlocking some of them !

I keep an eye on the planning application for Yeading and Barnhill just in case there is something that needs the attention of local resident. Having fought Tesco on many occasions against various planning applications, it will be a long drawn out affair for Asda to get planning for Hayes. The town can do with another supermarket, a direct competitor to Tesco. Sainsbury are doing their bit to provide competition but more is needed for people to see that prices can be competitive on goods, services and of course the price of petrol.

Incidentally, the originally Tesco at Yeading was an Asda but they pulled out before completion of the site, Tesco stepped in like a vulture.

Competition is the name of the game, forget the aspirations of world dominance sought by Tesco, freedom of choice should not be smothered by local Councils, preventing the market place free for all of survival of the fittest, for them with the deepest pockets, will only dilute the free enterprise, nobody wins a one horse race, wake up and smell the coffee while you can, :o ;) ;)
