Some years I had stair lift install, including a maintenance contract with it, latter it develop a fault so I contacted the maintenance firm, and was told they would send an engineer.

This engineer arrived and I said the fault could be on the electrics it appears to have gone open circuit, remember, he pose as an engineer.

He asked what's open circuit? now I have retired after forty years in electric's, my answer to him was " you are worst than me".

His answer “What’s open Circuit” What’s wrong with that?
As you gave the impression, you knew all about the machine. He’s asking, a safety switch or sensor maybe, a fuse maybe.
Maybe he’s telling you. You called me here to fix it, don’t tell me how to do my job, I have a manufactures recommended diagnostic procedure. This way I catch, any other problems.

He was called in because it was part of the ongoing maintainance contract. never skilled? but not an engineer,or he would not have asked on either counts.
Doing this work for over forty years(retired) could I have repair it, what do you think?.But am I to take it you are telling me to keep a dog and bark myself.
