I was walking last December
Twas the 9th if I remember
I was walking with an air of manly pride
Then at once began to stutter
As I fell down in the gutter
Then a pig came and laid down by my side
Not a word could I utter
As I lay there in the gutter
Two ladies passing one was heard to say
You can tell of one who boozes
By the company that one chooses
And the bl***y pig got up and walked away
;) ;)

I'm sorry I've broken my promise in a way, Jim! I have changed some of the words of the second poem so it's partly a new poem! The reference to a mole has gone as it didn't seem relevant any more and so have just made it a different dedication really.

Do you write poems yourself? I have often wondered? Would like to see some if you do.
Thankyou for taking part.

Marian

Bedwyn ... Are you going to try some more poems with a 'play on words' I hope so?

You could start one with:

Someone visited Bedwyn
Whose name I remember was Edwin

The last word could be hard to rhyme but I have thought of one. It's a bit of a groaner though.
Looking forward to seeing what you come up with.

One for you, Jim! come on ..try

There was once a pink panther called Jim
Who fell for a panther called Kim

Have altered the line to 'men and women'

Hope your Dad enjoyed the poem :)
