For my part, comments of encouragement are always welcomed with thanks and I am grateful for all those I have received so far.

Strange coincidences....
In our newspaper on Monday I found an appeal from a chap in U.K. who was looking for details of Hurricane pilots who were killed flying the type during WW2.
This being the subject of his second book.

Because the grandson of the founder of the company that made the Battle of Britain lace panels, (the subject of my book) was killed 9th September 1939 while landing a Mk 1 Hurricane, I contacted him and was able to provide many details and photos .
He tells me that it will be included in a chapter entitled "The First to Fall".

He also tells me that the first Hurricane crash was F/O Mervyn Seymour Bocquet of 111 Squadron. He was killed on February 1st 1938 flying Hurricane L1556 during an excercise near Northolt.
He actually crashed on Swakeley's estate.

Sad, but in a way satisfying to retain their memory.
:( :)

Progress, the plot thickens.
We will hopefully be organising the book layout this week and, because there is always something new happening with them, we will look at bringing out a revised second edition in 2015 for the 75th anniversary of the battle.
Clever or what?

:D

p.s. It is now 71 pages

Now 79 pages with some late inclusions.
Looking at getting the ball rolling next month.

Huh? What, did the pilots use them on the back of their seats as antimacassars Brian?
