In he southeast usa we have had a very mild winter, temps in the last 2 weeks have been 70s and 80s , big storm coming in today from Texas, my fruit trees thought that spring started a month ago, my orange trees and grapfruits are loaded with blossoms the scent is almost overpowering, hope we have plenty of bees.

Just looking back at my opening post, I would just like to clarify something. That is our overseas members are of course always welcome to post on the main ( local ) weather topic as well, I don't want them to think they have been cut afdrift so to speak !!

I opened this thread up as a way of reporting, recording and posting about weather related things from around the globe, as opposed to just London and the South East. Hope that makes sense, and thanks to those of you who are already posting here.
I will be trying to keep tabs on whats happening around the world, and posting links to articles as and when time allows.

Cheers. Moley 8-)

Oh, and thanks Jon.

^^ Thanks Brian.

Just to get the ball rolling, here is a link to a summary of Summer 2011/12 for Australia. Perhaps the locals can add a few thoughts and comments as I have not had the chance to look at it in detail ?

You might not want to look at this link if you don't like spiders or snakes, but if you don't have a peak, you will miss out on some astonishing photos of how nature works to survive and protect itself. I promise there is nothing too scary in the link, quite the opposite in fact.
