Hello everyone,

Really sorry to hear about this. I do hope this chap is ok, he could be sick and unable to do anything about it, he could have had an emergency that has taken him away, we do not know what has happened. On the other hand, he could have been caught doing something he shouldn't and had everything conviscated. A word with the police to find out if they can shed any light might be useful.

I am hoping that the words written over these last years are not lost. What a lot of history there. There must be a back up?

Do you have any other contact details other than email. Must be registered?

This is very sad.

That was my concern too, but he's perfectly fit and well judging by his tweets about his drinking and football Noeline. He's the person I was paying to host the sites and keep back-ups.

What's happened is a total, total mystery. One of his friends has been tweeting him too asking him where is site has gone and would he please respond.

My guess is that something went wrong, he hadn't been doing back ups, and hasn't the courage or the decency to simply tell me, which is from an ethical point of view worse than making a mistake and losing everything.

Until I knew what was going on and whether things might be fixed, I could not make decisions about what to do next. 18 days on and I know no more than the day it all disappeared.

I have another site too which have a strong and loyal following and it's been disastrous (I'm just getting that one back online at the moment, but as with the Hayes site, many years of valuable contributions have been lost.
