At long last they've put the cones out. I predict chaos as there is no viable diversion route. |

It seems there has been some work done, they have added about a metre of extra central reservation to both side of the main carriageways! Not sure how this is going to stop the occurrence of the same type of accident |

Exactly. They need to reduce the limit entering the roundabout to 30mph and fit cameras. I always thought that if a stretch of road was considered dangerous, as this roundabout is, then cameras could be justified. I pull out of Glencoe road (from Tesco direction) daily and in one second there is nothing in sight coming down from the white Hart and the next a speeding motorist is overtaking you zooming off towards Ossie Garvin. |

it should have been an underpass like the grapes that would have stopped a lot of the accidents, |

I agree. At the moment the usual situation is that at 17:00 it's jammed back from the White Hart to Yeading Mon-Wed and often Ossie Garvin Thu/Fri. It's all very well providing these dual carriageways but not providing a decent exit strategy just makes it worse. |

As soon as they cut out Hayes town everyone is forced down this bottleneck. Obviously not a clever planning committee at the time |

Have they finished ? Seems very little change and I note from the BBC travel this morning (16th) that there is another accident there (again). They need to slow the traffic down approaching the roundabout (a camera, southbound, just before the roundabout and set that limit to 30). Coming out of the road from Tesco it is impossible to see what's coming from Northolt till it's too late, especially the speeds they enter the roundabout from Northolt. I've driven down from PCWorld and been overtaken like I was going backwards. |
