I can't believe anyone could be so irresponsible enough to park
right on the corner of a street, forcing pedestrians to either walk
all the way around the car or cross
on the road

i thought traffic wardens used mopeds in Hillingdon, perhaps a call to them and subsequent tickets might stop this type of parking. For over a decade a local road had a similar issue preventing drivers from seeing round a bend, despite off-road parking spaces literally feet away. After years of complaints to the council, they finally put in double yellow lines. Frustratingly though, those same residents still park as close to the lines as possible and the partings spaces still remain empty!

I think people have forgotten you're not allowed to park on corners.

They park anywhere these days. I have no sympathy for any damage caused to cars by inconsiderate parking. I think I've posted before that I caused a bit a damage to cars years ago when I was pushing my daughter round and the gap left was tight as I refused to push her into the road when cars were on the pavement.

Indeed you did. Mind you, I see in 1943 you could be charged with misuse of petrol if you did so much as go down Bourne Ave without permission from the Petrol Board! See these two links, click to enlarge:

It's not a great spot to park at all is it! Only forgiveable if it really, really was necessary... otherwise just thoughtless.
