Can't believe the Olympic Lane on the A40... wasn't expecting that. However, as it coincides with the school holidays when traffic drops massively, things may not be too bad.

That M4 elevated section needs scrapping and rebuilding properly.

If I heard right, the first problems were due to crumbling concrete exposing the steel cables that then subsequently started giving way due to rust?

Sounds like the construction company using badly mixed or sub-standard concrete.

The Olympic Lanes don't come into play until the end of the month, so for the moment, you can use them

The A40 Olympic lanes are both ways from outside the Travelodge (op Park Royal Leisure Centre) all the way to Baker St in both directions (with a break in the 2 lane section over the railway lines at Gypsy Corner). However, the elevated section over the northern roundabout will be down to one lane.

Lets hope if the M4 can't be fixed before the 27/7, the A40 Olympic lanes are scrapped

I noticed the Olympic Lane on the A40 today (and drove on it just for the hell of it)

I think that's one bit of road I'll be avoiding for a while - the A40 is going to be a nightmare.

A system of government where the least capable to lead, are elected by the least capable of producing, and where the members of society least likely to sustain themselves or succeed, are rewarded with goods and services, paid for by the confiscated wealth of a diminishing number of producers. I was getting prepared for a long wait from Heathrow to M4 J3 yesterday but it was actually fairly free moving

Drivers must be avoiding it if possible

Good news (well for me as I use the coach to get into work). The special A40 Olympic lane has now had the words 'BUS &' added to the Olympic markings.

Please forgive me if you see me making rude gestures from the coach to all you losers stuck in the jam. If you don't like it, catch me if you can ;) :D
