THE rebirth of the Franco-German power base has been cemented as it was revealed France and Germany will together build a next generation fighter dubbed “the biggest armament project imaginable in Europe”.
This latest report ought to have the people of Britain, especially UK military chiefs, asking very serious and searching questions of the political class regarding the current weakened state of Britain's military defences, and the existing Anglo-Franco 50 year military agreement.
For example: What significance does the rebirth of a Franco-German military power base have for the Anglo-Franco agreement and Britain's future independence? Does the Anglo-Franco agreement mean that Britain's military will now come under under Franco-German control, effectively EU Control? Will our two new carriers eventually carry the new Franco-German fighter? How does all of this fit into Brexit? Why has none of this ever been debated in the House of Commons?
The Anglo-Franco agreement effectively integrated Britain's arms manufacturers and engineering excellence with the French, with much of our British engineering expertise being transferred to France, and under French control.
The three articles linked to below need to be read and fully understood as regarding the depth of integration of the British and French military, and the blending of British industry and engineering know-how with the French. A process that has been politically planned, agreed, and currently being implemented with the approval and enthusiastic support of the current British Government. A Government that claims it is preparing for Britain to leave the EU in compliance with the democratic result of the June 2016 referendum.
