Councillors are too busy nowadays meeting their constituents, attending meetings at the Civic Centre and cancvassing for the latest sound bites, Honestly! I haven't seen a councillor or attended a local surgery in probably 8yrs or so. Surgery times are not convenient and I understand that my councillors live in the north of the borough, certainly not local and unaware of or living with local issues.

There are a lot of local meetings for all manner of things, but like you they are all too late in the day.

I'm available all day but after 16:00 I'm indoors. I've missed out on loads of meetings I would like to have attended but not at bedtime.

Yes, very quiet these days. Several reasons for that, the main ones being:

- People who fell out with each other and left or were barred
- Facebook
- Tragic technical crises, including total loss of server when an internet company which hosted us folded
- Many former members have moved out of Hillingdon since we started and inevitably lost interest
- Some great friends contributors have sadly died over the years
- Hillingdon Council is on the whole rather competent and there's not too much to complain about.

Of all of those reason, probably the biggest single one is the rise and rise and rise of Facebook.

I've never been interested in FaceAche. It's a scammers and trolls paradise, plus I don't really want to be that easily identified.

I visit a few forums and that suits me :)

I don't have anything to do with Facebook, don't trust it at all. Similarly with Google, I won't use it unless there really is no other option.

Again, very wise. I'm afraid I have not managed to be so resistant and there is probably nothing about me Google couldn't tell someone who wanted to know! It becomes especially hard with mobile phones and the many wonderful things they can do.

Yes, my phone and tablet rely on Google because I want nothing to do with Apple. They tie things down too hard for my liking. Plus they presumably do a costing exercise then double it.

As it is I get zero spam. Maybe because I run Norton, Malwarebytes, AdBlock+ and Privacy Badger on all my devices.

It may be seen as overkill but it seems to work.

And - my phone is protected by TrueCall. Talk about me being belt and braces :)
