MY BT Hub3 is located near Telephone (for ease of installation) but my neighbour gets a good enough signal to use my wi-fi easily. so that's through two brick walls and a load of furnature etc.

I always protect my router with a WPA2 password.

Anyone that leaves their router open is asking for trouble these days with illegal downloads.

I agree!

I was out with friends for lunch last week and the restaurant had free wifi with no protection or password. Easy to use but not at all secure

Does Gary McKinnon live next door to you?

For personal internet connections it is always sensible to lock them against unauthorised use. If hacking fraud or other illegal activity took place through your connection it would be your gear they seizes whilst they investigate it and you.......

Our connection here at home is secure. Only family can use it

I've been using Dropbox lately to load pictures onto my ipad and am really pleased with it. Thanks for the tip Jon.

Dropbox is good also for sharing ebooks between family and friends.

You can upload to a folder then share access to that folder to who u want...
