It all happened on Christmas Eve. Our favourite chat forum, along with a host of other popular middx.net websites, disappeared from the internet.

Here's the short version of a long story: the company hosting us seems to have pulled the plug on itself and its customers, and won't respond to emails, phone calls, text message or tweets.

What can I say? Sorry everyone. The damage is incalculable. Middx.net gets two to three thousand hits a day and hundreds of people have contributed to make it what it was. I think I have now established that it's all been lost. Hard to know as the chap responsible is ignoring everyone. It's a devastating loss.

Putting up another forum is easy enough; but ten years of contributions to the Hayes site and another valuable site, the AEC one, seem to be lost. I'm in mourning.

That's a good question. The only person who can answer it seems to have become a Trappist monk.
