Given that MPs are now collectively working against the interests of the majority of the population it's difficult to say what would be a fair salary.

They are being rewarded for incompetence!!

Is the Country in better shape since this lot took over in 2010? If there the board of a PLC they all would have been collectively sacked a while ago.
Sadly, that is no longer the case either. It has become too common for incompetence at board level to be rewarded with large pay-offs and early retirements. Take some of the disgraceful bankers as an example, they've walked away with £millions in pay-offs and pensions, when in truth they should have faced charges of fraud and misappropriation of funds. Incompetence really is the very least some of them should be charged with. A similar situation exists within the BBC – a boss fouls-up big time and then takes early retirement accompanied with a mind-boggling sum of money. It isn't as if these people are on poverty level low salaries to begin with – some of their salaries represent far more than the total income over a whole working life for many people. It really is unacceptable for public money to be regarded with such cavalier behaviour.

As for MPs, many of those guilty of making outrageous expenses claims should have been charged with theft and banged-up for many years as a warning to any following on behind. As it is, a simple apology, or claim 'it was a mistake', is sufficient for them to resume normal service of fleecing the public.

But far above the crimes of theft and fraud, many of MPs, especially the party leaders over recent decades, should face charges of high treason for handing over the governance of the UK to the undemocratic and illegal EU without the clear and unambiguous agreement of the British people.

The ONLY man to enter the big house with honourable intentions was Guy Fawkes.
