Its about time
anyone can follow any religion , or belief , i dont care as long as its legal
and it does not have any impact or effect on anyone else.
This does , and i can see no reason why the UK cant do the same

I am amazed that the Dutch Govt can find the time for this legislation when they are imploding at the moment

Not really imploding they are used to having coalitions set up and coalitions fail. As I understand it this is simply part of the normal process.

It would be unusual to get a Dutch Government to serve a full term rather than they other way around. There current difficulty is the anti austerity fever which is sweeping Europe evident in the Greek and French elections yesterday.

This banning of ritual slaughter would be the influence (and parliamentary seats) the far right has in Dutch politics.....

I foresee the extremists at both ends left and right to gather more influence( as happened in both elections yesterday) as the world wide financial crisis deepens...
