Last I heard we had one functional sub shared between the Atlantic and Pacific commands.
Of course Edmonton has a large fleet in the mall

We designed and built our own subs, why buy proven technology?
Called the Collins Class or "C" Boats. Very nice inside and good food, I had lunch on HMAS Waller.

Unfortunately, very noisy and plagued with problems, would make a nice floating restaurant.
Total waste of money.
