Thoughts..
http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-22452157
Quote:
Cleveland Police has agreed to pay £550,000 in damages after prominent defence lawyer James Watson was falsely imprisoned, BBC Newsnight has learned.

The unprecedented payout includes £80,000 in exemplary damages - the maximum possible amount.

The force admits falsely imprisoning Mr Watson and his family when the lawyer was arrested in 2009, wrongful interference with his belongings and trespass.

There is good reason to believe (and this is further evidence of it, IMHO) that our public sector is subject to a widespread failure of accountability.

I'm sure there are many factors behind this state of affairs - not least of which is that the mechanisms by which Rt Hon members of Parliament are themselves (supposedly) held to account have been substantially dismantled in my lifetime. If the anointed 'leaders' of our society are effectively untouchable, why on earth should we expect them to be scrupulous in supervising the agencies for which they are - nominally - responsible?

Cleveland rotten from top to bottom.. I bet many other forces up and down the Country are exactly the same..

Former Cleveland Police Authority chairman Dave McLuckie has resigned from his role as councillor for Skelton and also from the Labour Party after being found guilty of perverting the course of justice.

we have the best police service that money can buy! its the poly bods in SW1 that needs sorting, they could not run a raffle, let alone a Country, like we used to be, it is to the eternal shame of Governments past, and present we owe this sorry state of affairs, REVOLUTION draws ever closer! we will wake up sooner or later, maybe Pensioners will get the same percentage rise as politicians, just maybe the born and bred Brits will get the same treatment as those who come here for the handouts. no doubt about it we must be the laughing stock of the world.

Two of those factors must include the fact that ACPO (Association of Chief Police Officers) is a private business run for the benefit of the CPOs, and other behind-the-scenes persons. Another major factor must include the significant influence that Common Purpose, with its Marxist background, is having on the police.
