For the same reason he is backtracking on his closeness to the lovely Rebekah currently in the dock at the Bailey..

When it goes pear shaped it was nothing to do with him.

All very odd...and all very sinister.

From the link provided by Jon, Common Purpose claim it has no involvement with control of the press. But the truth appears to be something very different to what Common Purpose claim:
Quote:
Common Purpose, which denies having a Left-wing or pro-European agenda, said it ‘has no involvement in the campaign for greater regulation for the Press’.
It added: ‘Nobody from Common Purpose has had any discussions with Mr Cameron about the Leveson Inquiry, or regulation of the Press, and nor would there have been any reason for them to do so.’

Let's deal with EU links to The Media Trust and the EU, and the links between the EU and Common Purpse that Common Purpose seek to hide:
http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/uknews/ ... press.html
Quote:
Hacked Off said last night that it had not received money from the EU. However, the Media Standards Trust has received money from the EU’s European Social Fund for a study into local news.
The Media Standards Trust is also closely connected to a charity for training “future leaders” called Common Purpose, accused by its opponents of being a political front for pro-Brussels values, which it denies. Common Purpose was paid at least £1.4  million in EU grants in 2011, according to the EU financial transparency system database.

Now to trace the links between Sir David Bell and the Media Trust, Common Purpose, and Levenson.

Sir David Bell is listed amongst the board of the Media Standards Trust:
http://mediastandardstrust.org/about/people/
Quote:
Sir David Bell | Formerly Chairman, Financial Times

Sir David Bell has solid links with Common Purpose as a former Trustee
http://www.commonpurpose.org.uk/about/g ... -statement
From Sir David Bell himself:
Quote:
I am proud to be a Common Purpose Trustee and very proud of what Julia has achieved, and of what we do. As our website makes clear Julia has been committed for over 21 years to a very simple proposition: that communities will work better if the leaders of them - in the private sector, the public sector and the not for profit sector - work together to identify opportunities to improve things for the public good. Our courses are outlined on our website for all to see. The testimonials we have received from clients from all walks of life demonstrate the value and success of our leadership courses. This is what Common Purpose is all about and it's what we continue to do - as we have done since 1989.

From the Levenson Inquiry site:
http://www.levesoninquiry.org.uk/people ... avid-bell/
Quote:
Sir David Bell is a non-executive director of the Economist. He retired as a director of Pearson plc and Chairman of the Financial Times at the end of 2009 after 13 years on the Board.
David joined the FT from the Oxford Mail ending up as Managing Editor. After moving to the business side of the paper he was appointed Chief Executive in 1993 and became Chairman in 1996. In July 1998 he was also appointed Pearson’s Director for People with responsibility for the recruitment, motivation, development and reward of employees across the Pearson Group and in June 2003 he became Chairman of Pearson Inc in New York.
He resigned as chair of the Media Standards Trust on being appointed an assessor for the Leveson Inquiry. He remains Chairman of Sadler’s Wells, Chair of Council at Roehampton University, Chairman of Crisis, Chairman of Common Purpose, Chairman of the Transformation Trust and Chair of The Institute of War & Peace Reporting Europe. He is also a member of the International Youth Foundation Board, a member of Plan UK’s Board, a trustee of the Esmee Fairbairn Foundation, the not for profit Bureau for Investigative Journalism, and the Centre for the Study of Financial Innovation (CSFI) and a member of the Honorary Council of the Royal National Theatre.

Now for the links between the Media Trust and Hacked Off
This quote from the Media Standard Trust web site claim that Hacked off have become INDEPENDENT of the Media Standards Trust.
Quote:
In the summer of 2012, Hacked Off became independent of the Media Standards Trust. It is now a non-profit company, based on Victoria Street, London. The director is Professor Brian Cathcart. For further information, go to http://hackinginquiry.org/.
That clearly indicates that Hacked Off and the Media Standard Trust were once the same organisation.

David Cameron has links to Common Purpose:
He is photographed with Common Purpose:
http://www.commonpurpose.org.uk/

The links between Common Purpose, the Media Trust, Hacked Off, the Levenson Inquiry, and David Cameron appear to be far more intimate than any of them would like us to know about. As somebody who once worked in an industry that was covered by the Official Secrets Act, I know that if I had any links with agents that were considered a threat to national security that were as strong as David Cameron's links to Common Purpose, the Media Standards Trust, the Levenson Inquiry and the control of the press, then I would have been compelled to explain myself. There were times that even a planned holiday to some foreign countries would have required me to get special clearance before going on holiday, and a thorough vetting on my return to the UK. Somehow the same restrictions don't seem to apply to the establishment elite these days.

When I visited Romania on a skiing trip in the mid 80's (before the fall of Communism) I had to seek permission to travel.

When I returned I also had to undergo a debrief by SIB who amongst other questions asked if I had, had sex with a Romanian National? Hardly I replied my wife was with me..
I was a mere squaddie at the time. If you worked at Aldermaston or something or knew some real secrets they would not usually allow you to go.

Romania was and probably remains much of a toilet of a place but that is for another thread. Not forgetting a large part of it is coming here quite soon.

Common Purpose is simply a club for the boys, you will get no where in local government unless you have been on the course 'and conform to the program'.

I think one of it's main purposes is to weed out anti EU type people to stop them attaining power in the future. The gulf between what politicians at every level think about Europe and the general feeling in the Country is seriously out of kilter.

Both Cameron and Milliband seem to be in denial about the bloody nose they are going to get in next years Euro elections.

Common Purpose is far more than a “boys club”. Common Purpose is a change agent. It is a change agent with globalist horizons. A change agent that doesn't publicly explain what it means by “change”. Common Purpose doesn't tell us what is plans to change, or where its changes are leading to. This secretive behaviour should put all of us on our guard.

A look at the Common Purpose web site quickly reveals that it is as an undefined agent for change, with international connections (See the link below with extracted quotations). A change agent that is somewhat reluctant to spell out to the public what it is changing, and why. A change agent that is subversively changing things across the globe without any reference to an electorate. A change agent that appears to be actively involved in bringing about political control of the UK press. A controlled press means the end of free-speech. A controlled press means the media can only publish what first has political consent. A controlled press means a dictatorship. Why would any secretive organisation want to make changes towards a controlled political system?

Quote:
Common Purpose gives leaders the skills, the connections and the inspiration they need to produce real change. Through our unique leadership development courses, a growing number of people around the world are making a difference in the industries and places where they work, in the communities where they live and in wider society.
Common Purpose helps people, organisations, cities and regions to succeed by broadening the horizons of their leaders and developing their ability to work together to lead complex change.
The impact of their Common Purpose experience and the course they take part in, can be seen in the changes they make in their organisations, communities and in wider society.
Quote:
"Wherever Common Purpose operates, you will find leaders doing unusual things; taking responsibility for problems other than their own - at work and in their community - connecting efforts, recognising consequences, asking difficult questions and gathering disparate teams. These leaders are able to build sufficient trust so that people actually change things. There will be many leaders who face up to the complex, messy, long-term problems that really matter; the unusual part is when they become almost limitless as leaders - when they have recognised the need to operate beyond their own space and started to learn how to actually do it, working with others so their efforts combine more often, and add more.
Locally and internationally, Common Purpose graduates will be 'lighting small fires' to create change in their organisations and communities, which are both deeply interconnected and frustratingly fragmented. The Common Purpose effect is best illustrated by the many stories of small changes brought about by leaders, who themselves have changed. It is this individual shift, combined with its local nature and now its sheer scale, that makes it so exciting and sustaining."
Julia Middleton, founder and Chief Executive of Common Purpose
Note: These change agents are trained to “operate beyond their own space”, they are trained to operate beyond their defined responsibilities. They “light small fires” then stand back and watch the change (People who “light fires” are normally called arsonists). They are in effect subversives, a fifth column, change agents who appear to be what they aren't. Common Purpose 'graduates' are not too keen on being known for what they are.

The undefined word “CHANGE” appeared in the Conservative election banners and publications. It appeared all over Obama's election campaign banners. Blair is a “change” politician. Politicians of the LibLabCon are constantly talking of change without ever defining what they mean to change and why. But we do now know after some years of “change” that the changes made do not benefit we ordinary folk. Britain has been forcibly changed against the direct wishes of the indigenous people – and the political elite continue to ignore our concerns and impose further change against our wishes.
