Attempted Takeover of Schools?

Let me say straight away that I'm not in any way anti-Islamic but I do have some genuine concerns about some elements within the Islamic community who seem to want to separate themselves from the rest of British society which cannot be a good thing if we are to have a cohesive peaceful mutually respectful society. The reported attempted "takeover" of some schools seems to me to be another example of what is happening in certain places. Personally I am not in favour of having any faith schools - in my view they should all be secular, religion of any denomination seems to cause problems and division, just look at Northern Ireland!

I will wait for the Ofsted report before forming opinion.

Heard an in depth report on Radio 4 the other day where it was suggested that the governors simply wanted something better for the kids.

This is inner city Birmingham in areas blighted by gangs, drugs and crime. The governors were it was suggested trying to educate the kids with a system to instil bonding and participation in the society specifically to keep the kids out of gangs (including the extremist Muslim variety).

Yes some allegations have been made which may have some foundation.....

Which is why the inspectors have been sent in..............

Or should we just round up those accused and intern them?

it'll be just like an Ofsted inspection. prior warning so they can remove all evidence, inspection over then go back to normal.

It seems to me that from what parents and teachers have been saying there's plenty of prima facie evidence that extremists are attempting to 'take-over' certain schools in Birmingham - these same extremists are hell-bent on infiltrating our institutions in order to subvert our liberal Western culture for their own ends.
The BIG question is, will Ofsted have the cojones to actually name names and get to the bottom of this or will they simply provide a tame report that essentially does nothing for fear of creating racial tensions? We shall see ...

I agree with you on this one Rich Kid. I strongly suspect that if we knew the full truth then this practice stretches far beyond Birmingham to include just about every metropolitan area, city, and major town city in the land.
