Sadly over in Farnborough but there are bus lanes all over Hillingdon which have caused YEARS of needless misery for bus passengers and car drivers and need to be removed.

I think councils are given targets for bus lanes regardless of whether they do any good. Mad green lunacy.

Nope

It's a way of trying to get people out of cars which has worked for me. I try and use public wherever possible now. I tend to use the car for retail parks and visiting.

So easy to get a bus to Uxbridge or Harrow or even a bus/tube to Oxford Street.

Nice in the morning peak when the bus zooms up the lane to the Target

It would do that anyway! Without the bus lanes there would be no jams. You see the jams form as soon as the bus lanes become operational.

Long tailbacks form in Kingshill Ave and on the A40 which NEVER EXISTED before the bus lanes were introduced.

And they KNEW that would happen because they created a long queuing lane on the A40 when they put the bus lanes in which had never been needed before!!!

It has caused millions of hours of misery for many thousands of people. It's evil.

There are far more cars on the road now that I believe contribute.

The M25 for example is far more congested now than a few years ago and bus lanes can't be a factor. These days the majority of kids go to the local school and yet they are still driven there and back. My daughter used to walk the ½ mile to Belmore and then Barnhill in about 15 to 20 mins whilst neighbours kids got driven.

On occasions I used to walk down to Belmore to meet her and get home at about the same time as a neighbour who got jammed in Owen road.

Bus lanes have the same effect as wind-turbines and solar panels; they are political statements that have no practical benefit whatsoever for those of us who are compelled to fund them. At the same time, they increase the political control over our lives, and enrich those who back them.

Bus lanes provide free road at the expense of the poor tax-payer for the benefit of private for-profit bus companies. Wind turbines similarly are funded by the poor tax-payer/energy user, while the private for-profit energy companies and land owners rake in the 'profit'. Solar panel arrays are in the same category as bus lanes and wind turbines – funded by the poor, whilst enriching the rich. And all of them are backed by the political lies of man-made global warming/climate change and the UN's Agenda 21 - and they extend the power of the political elite over us all.

Bus lanes do cause traffic congestion, but that is part of the political statement that says our lives MUST be controlled by the political elite. Wind turbines and solar panels do raise the cost and unreliability of the electricity supply, at the same time the political message says that only the political elite can save us from ourselves – we MUST be controlled.

Political control combined with private for-profit companies and corporations = FASCISM. And the whole of the LibLabCon are applying the same policies.
