If the bloke was desperate and the story true then he is entitled to explain his circumstances. I wonder why he was in NY for Hamza's conviction? Maybe the US needed evidence from him? So maybe it is credible.

As for the rest what goes round comes round and the bloke as everyone knows lives in Islington...
