A couple of years or more ago I mentioned on here that I thought it was a bit bad that on more than one occasion I'd seen an ambulance parked up all afternoon near the entrace to The Chimes, with its engine running.

In exactly the same spot today, there was a police patrol car parked up with its engine running..... and not a police officer in sight either in or out of the car. It was just standing there, doing nothing, with its engine running. How can that happen???

You should have have nicked it!! Certainly should have snapped/videoed it.

Write to the Superintendent at Uxbridge Nick and request an explanation....

They will tell you to foxtrot oscar but its worth a try!! Or do a FOI request on the numbers of times and occurrences police vehicles are left unattended with their engines running.

Have you seen or heard of the TV show 'bait car', don't touch it, call the police if it concerns you.

Could it be that the coppers from the Police car left the vehicle on the hurry up to nick some villains??
(they are exempt from the traffic regulations about leaving engines running in unattended cars)

As for the Ambulances, the LAS use software to predict where/when people are going to be ill and when (based on historical data and call patterns) and place Ambulance crews in that postcode for an early response during certain hours of the day. I pass one regularly near Hillingdon Circus and have no objection about the crew keeping warm by keeping the engine running
