It is good to read about this Law which is coming into force today. It should help people be listened to and free them from torment and suffering, not only suffering physical injury but mental and emotional too.

This is good news for those who finds themselves in such a situation, but I can't help wondering if it will be of any help to those who are still too frightened to talk to anyone. It's to be hoped that the existence of this new legislation will provide the stimulus to victims to take that important first step.

At least this is a Law in place, now, to give some kind of security and credibility to victims of emotional abuse. Maybe they won't feel so scared to report how they are being treated.

It must be difficult to make the decision if the nature of the abuse is actually destructive of someone's confidence and so that important first step can't be taken. Fear may not be easily understood by outsiders, either in Authority or family and friends and so don't recognise the symptoms.

Hopefully, the all important people will be trained fully so that they are aware and not want to quickly dismiss cases which should be looked into thoroughly.
