Excellent find Kremmen. This is blind, dishonest Marxism / fascism / New World Order dumbed-down dictatorial political dogma (Verhofstadt for the EU). VERSUS: Sound intellect, rational thinking and clear headed independent sovereign reasoning (JRM for the British people). This polite cross examination of Verhofstadt by JRM reveals for all to see just how much a numpty that Mrs May is for not being able to contend with, and destroy the EU’s Withdrawal Agreement (WA). Neither does it say very much for the quality of British MPs who are equally incapable of seeing through the EU’s WA. |

The bottom line for me is that - of course the EU want the backstop to remain because that's what it is - Remain. It ensures the EU have ongoing control over our trade, the same as it is now: The EU controls who we trade with The EU controls tariffs and gets their cut It keeps us tied heavily in All of which remainer May wanted. It's those 3 topics that any sensible person realises that we must leave. |

Kremmen, I agree with your assessment. I view the current Withdrawal Agreement as a SURRENDER treaty to the EU. It very effectively reduces the UK to a vassal state to the EU, a position that has become ever clearer with every treaty change over the past decades. For me, nothing less than a full withdrawal from the EU has any chance of restoring British independent sovereignty. Any deal/agreement with the EU is very likely to have serious strings attached, strings that will eventually bind us into “ever closer union” under the heavy boot of the EU. |

I think Boris realises this and that's why the backstop has to go or be altered in a way that lets us trade freely with the world under our or WTO terms. As was once said, let's get out then start changing things because the EU can't stop us. |
